Community hospitals in West Bengal
ISHP establishes new health facilities in the rural areas and also helps to revamp the old dilapidated ones. We provide the entire gamut of services – planning, designing, setting up and management of the established facilities. We engage different models for carrying out this work – Public-Private Partnership (PPP) , Partnership with private healthcare organizations and CSR funded initiatives.
We work in collaboration with our sister organization – Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP). This consortium has set-up two state-of-the art 30 – bedded community hospitals in District Murshidabad in West Bengal. Identification of the hospital sites was done based on the findings of a systematic need assessment study carried out by us. The hospitals have separate female and male wards, operation theatre, pre- and post-operative units, an X-ray unit, an Ultrasonography unit, a modern laboratory, OPD consultation chambers, a pharmacy and other ancillary structures. One of the hospitals at Khargram receives and treats approximately 400 patients’ everyday at a very low cost.
